Nucleus Colonies with deGroot Queens cost $260 and are ready for pick-up end of May-beginning of June. The balance of payment is due prior to pick-up via e-transfer or cash at time of pick up. We will contact you via phone or email when your bees are ready and schedule a pick-up time.
Made up per the Ontario Bee Breeders’ Association (OBBA) standard of:
-four deep frames of our beautiful bees.
-one frame of honey/pollen
-two to three frames of brood & bees with larva in all stages of production and a deGroot locally bred laying queen.
Our bees are raised from our best hardy stock. The bees come in a standard nuc cardboard box sealed and ready for transport.
The $50 non-refundable pre-payment secures your nuc for the season.
Our deGroot Queens are renowned for their excellent over-winter survival rate due to being raised and bred in our local Zone 3 mountain climate/Ottawa Valley for many years.

Description
Please note: These are live bees you will be transporting, be prepared to place them in a cool, well ventilated area during transport. Do not place in back of pick-up trucks due to high volume of air flow and uncertain weather conditions unless you are prepared to cover and secure your nuc.
Loss of life due to overheating is at your own risk. It is up to you as the Beekeeper to decide how best to transport your bees and do do it in such a manner as to ensure your bees health and well being.
Live bees are to be installed as soon as you can and once left our farm are in your care. We do not ship nucleus colonies. Nucs are to be picked-up at our bee farm in Wilno, Ontario.
