Early Over Wintered Nucs

Nucleus Colonies with over- wintered 2023 Queens cost $275 and are ready for pick-up 3rd week of May-beginning of June.  The balance of payment is due prior to pick-up via e-transfer or cash at time of pick up.  We will contact you via phone or email when your bees are ready and schedule a pick-up time.

Made up per the Ontario Bee Breeders’ Association (OBBA) standard of:

-four deep frames of our beautiful bees.

-one frame of honey/pollen

-two to three frames of brood & bees with larva in all stages of production and a deGroot locally bred laying queen.  

Our bees are raised from our best hardy stock. The bees come in a standard nuc cardboard box sealed and ready for transport.

The $50 non-refundable pre-payment secures your nuc for the season.

These early Spring nucs are the best of the best. They come with an overwintered local queen from 2023. What’s so special about these queens is they have proven to survive our cold Canadian Winter’s and thrive in our climate. Second year Queens have an increased laying rate of upto 40%, this means overwintered nucs grow almost twice as fast as new nucs.

These nucleus colonies are in a limited supply due to high demand.
